DELIVERY & INSTALLATION INFORMATION

SOLAR SPEC supplies solar, backup-power and energy products to customers across South Africa. This page provides clear information about order processing, delivery, collection and installation.

1. ORDER PROCESSING

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days after payment has been received and verified.

Processing begins once payment has been successfully confirmed.

Orders may require additional processing time where further payment verification, stock confirmation or special handling is required. Customers will be contacted where a significant delay is expected.

2. DELIVERY TIMEFRAME

Once an order has been processed and dispatched, delivery generally takes 3–5 business days within South Africa.

Delivery times may vary depending on:

  • Delivery location

  • Product size and weight

  • Courier or transport availability

  • Remote-area requirements

  • Product availability

  • Public holidays

  • Circumstances outside SOLAR SPEC's reasonable control

The estimated timeframe from order placement to delivery is approximately 4–7 business days.

3. DELIVERY AREAS

SOLAR SPEC offers delivery within South Africa, subject to product availability, courier coverage and delivery requirements.

Deliveries to remote or outlying areas may require additional time or charges.

Where an additional delivery charge applies, the customer will be informed before dispatch where reasonably possible.

4. DELIVERY COSTS

Applicable delivery charges will be displayed during checkout or communicated to the customer before the order is completed.

Delivery costs may vary depending on:

  • Delivery address

  • Product size

  • Product weight

  • Number of products

  • Special handling requirements

  • Courier or transport method

5. DELIVERY ADDRESS

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address and valid contact details.

Customers should ensure that:

  • Someone is available to receive the delivery where required.

  • The delivery address is accessible to the courier or transport provider.

  • Any relevant access restrictions are communicated in advance.

  • The telephone number and email address provided with the order are correct.

Additional delivery charges or delays may occur where delivery cannot be completed because of an incorrect address or unavailable recipient, where permitted by law.

6. LARGE OR HEAVY PRODUCTS

Certain products, including solar panels, batteries, generators and complete backup systems, may require specialised transportation or handling.

Delivery arrangements for large or heavy products may differ from standard courier delivery.

SOLAR SPEC may contact the customer before dispatch where additional delivery arrangements are required.

7. DELIVERY INSPECTION

Customers should inspect their order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If a product arrives damaged, incorrect or incomplete, customers should contact SOLAR SPEC promptly.

Customers may be asked to provide:

  • Order number

  • Photographs of the packaging

  • Photographs of the product

  • Description of the issue

Where reasonably possible, customers should retain the original packaging until the matter has been assessed.

8. COLLECTION

Where collection is available, customers may collect eligible orders by prior arrangement.

Customers must receive confirmation from SOLAR SPEC that the order is ready before arriving for collection.

Collection times and requirements will be communicated to the customer where applicable.

9. INSTALLATION

Unless specifically stated on the product page, quotation or order confirmation, installation is not included in the purchase price.

Customers are responsible for arranging suitable installation where required.

Solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators and other electrical equipment should be installed by appropriately qualified professionals and in accordance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

10. SOLAR SYSTEM INSTALLATION

Where SOLAR SPEC provides installation services, the applicable installation scope, price and conditions will be communicated to the customer before the installation is confirmed.

Installation may include only the work specifically stated in the applicable quotation or service agreement.

Additional materials, labour or site requirements may result in additional charges where agreed with the customer.

11. SITE REQUIREMENTS

Where installation is included, a site assessment may be required to determine the suitability of the installation location.

Factors that may be considered include:

  • Roof condition and structure

  • Available installation space

  • Electrical infrastructure

  • Distribution board

  • Cable routes

  • Battery location

  • Inverter location

  • Ventilation

  • Equipment access

  • Safety requirements

  • Applicable installation requirements

Actual site conditions may affect the final installation requirements.

12. CUSTOMER INSTALLATION RESPONSIBILITIES

Customers are responsible for providing reasonable access to the installation site where installation has been agreed.

Customers must disclose relevant information that could affect the installation.

Where required, customers are responsible for obtaining permission from property owners, landlords, body corporates or other relevant parties before installation.

13. SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

Solar and backup-power performance depends on several factors, including:

  • Solar irradiation

  • Weather conditions

  • Panel orientation

  • Shading

  • System size

  • Electricity consumption

  • Battery capacity

  • Inverter capacity

  • Connected loads

  • Installation conditions

  • Equipment configuration

SOLAR SPEC does not guarantee a specific electricity saving, solar generation level or backup duration unless expressly stated in writing for a specific product or system.

14. DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION DELAYS

Although SOLAR SPEC aims to meet the stated processing and delivery timeframes, delays may occasionally occur due to circumstances outside our reasonable control.

These may include:

  • Severe weather

  • Transport disruptions

  • Supplier delays

  • Product shortages

  • Public holidays

  • Remote-area delivery requirements

  • Access restrictions

  • Safety concerns

  • Technical issues

  • Other circumstances beyond reasonable control

Where reasonably possible, SOLAR SPEC will communicate significant delays to affected customers.
